Mariana Hoffman
I am an early career researcher with expertise in pulmonary rehabilitation, oxygen therapy, and inspiratory muscle training. My background is in physiotherapy, and I graduated overseas. I’ve worked in providing pulmonary rehabilitation both at home and in clinical settings for individuals with lung diseases. My Doctor of Philosophy degree is in rehabilitation sciences, and my research primarily focuses on adjunctive therapies to pulmonary rehabilitation to enhance the quality of life and well-being of people living with chronic lung diseases.
I bring nine years of research experience, including running clinical trials in respiratory medicine across various countries such as Brazil, Belgium, and Australia. Additionally, I have hands-on experience in conducting and managing pulmonary rehabilitation programs and teaching in physiotherapy courses.
Currently, I serve as a clinical trial manager and research fellow on a multicenter NHMRC-funded study on ambulatory oxygen therapy for patients with fibrotic interstitial lung disease. This study is being conducted in Australia and Sweden.
